Totally outrageous and always the life of the party, Jah Baz is a new and exciting, Australian born artist. Drawn to the beach and with a great love of the water, he has embraced an eccentric and hedonistic lifestyle.

From affluent bohemians to vagabond beach bums Jah Baz has drawn inspiration from time spent with his friends and his unusual life experiences which have often come about from his zany travels around the globe. His paintings are full of life, with his extraordinary use color creating vivid images that both capture and inspire your imagination.

Fluidity and movement are defining aspects of his work, almost possessing a music like quality, which may be no coincidence considering he is a classically trained flautist. As with his art, flamboyant improvisation is a hallmark of his playing style on both flute and guitar with Latin, Jazz, Flamenco and Reggae all being genres that he converses in fluently. Yes, Jah Baz is a uniquely talented individual and an artist that surely stands to create a unique rhythm and place in the history of Contemporary Art.

Still in his 20’s, his paintings hold a character that is beautifully naive, vibrant and fresh. Embracing a typically excessive, Caribbean inspired lifestyle and unabashed approach, his paintings are uniquely individual, always reflecting his immediate state of mind.

Jah Baz has consistently used only the finest artist materials available, including custom made stretchers from Belgium, Claessen’s Belgium linen and Williamsburg hand made oil paints. Exploring the unknown, Jah Baz has recently started to redefine his palette by adventurously mixing and experimenting with the finest pigments in the world, creating wondrous colours and visual effects, transporting the unimaginable to reality.

This year has brought many great opportunities, providing the chance for Jah Baz to be the feature artist presented by the Lommerse Art Group and will exhibit within the Gallery’s new premises, due for completion mid 2007, on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia.
