The Lommerse Art Group
In 2004 Melinda Lommerse dreamed to create an organization that would bring to the world’s attention the exciting work of Australia’s emerging contemporary artists.
After 2 years this dream has now become reality with the formation of The Lommerse Art Group in late 2005.
Melinda Lommerse has brought together an outstanding group of young & dynamic people with the focus of establishing itself as an organization that brings to the world stage the absolute best of Australia’s indigenous and non-indigenous contemporary artists. We aim to provide art work that is unique and striking, not only beautiful but also thought provoking.
In the works and eagerly awaited is a new, purpose built gallery, to be stunning its own right. The new site will enable multiple exhibitions simultaneously and allow us to display large custom installations. Expected to be ready by late 2007, the avant-garde structure will be nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland. Surrounded by lush native flora and fauna, the site has a breath taking vista that looks through to the coast line and beyond. In addition a nature walk will feature sculpture and bronze works.
Additionally planned for 2007 are a number of International Art Fairs where the Gallery will have the fantastic opportunity to promote its exciting new Australian artists to the rest of the world.
The Lommerse Art Group continues to strive for excellence and to be at the cutting edge of technology. Presentation and conservation of work is of the highest priority. The same care is taken with our solo exhibitions and installations at selected international contemporary art fairs.
Melinda’s vision is simple… to work together with other forward thinking organizations and individuals with the same goal of raising the international profile of Australian contemporary artists, both now and into the future.
